ELLIET L.M. Revis - MANAGING Partner
Elliet grew up in North Idaho and moved to Alaska after law school. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Idaho College of Law, building a strong grounding in legal analysis, advocacy, and client-focused representation.
Elliet is especially passionate about criminal defense, where he is committed to protecting the rights of individuals and ensuring every client receives a strong and thoughtful defense. He has represented clients in all stages of the criminal legal system and strongly believes in the principles of Gideon. Every defendant deserves to be seen and heard. Everyone deserves a strong, zealous defense. He previously served with both the Office of Public Advocacy and the Public Defender Agency, gaining extensive courtroom experience that included cases ranging from minor misdemeanors to serious unclassified felonies. Ultimately, he made the challenging decision to transition from public defense to private practice, bringing with him a dedication to justice and client advocacy that characterizes the work of Revis Law Group.
Before pursuing law, Elliet cultivated his passion for language and storytelling through a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing from Washington State University (Go Cougs!). He furthered his education by pursuing graduate studies at Southern New Hampshire University, where he earned a Master of Arts in Creative Writing and is currently completing his Master of Fine Arts in the same field. This unique academic journey sharpens his ability to communicate clearly, think creatively, and approach legal challenges with both precision and insight.
Elliet brings a thoughtful, articulate approach to his practice, combining rigorous legal training with a nuanced understanding of narrative and perspective—skills that are invaluable in crafting compelling arguments and advocating effectively for clients in both criminal and family law cases.
Residing in Wasilla, Alaska, with his two dogs, he continues to pursue his legal career, passion for writing, and love of music by playing in the Anchorage Community Concert Band.

John Revis - Partner
John is a born and raised Alaskan and combat veteran who served 10 years in the U.S. Coast Guard. His primary work in the military focused on environmental response and pollution investigations, including responding to the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill in 2010, where he spent 8 months on the Gulf Coast. In 2014, John deployed to Afghanistan as part of a RAID team, embedding with the U.S. Army to perform hazardous material inspections before shipping materials and equipment back to the United States. While deployed, he also enrolled in an online bachelor’s program through American Military University, ultimately earning his Bachelor of Environmental Science upon returning stateside in 2015.
In 2016, John separated from the Coast Guard to pursue a law degree at the University of Idaho, and he received his J.D. in 2019 with a focus on environmental law. After law school, John returned to Alaska and began his career as a criminal defense attorney, working in indigent criminal defense and gaining valuable trial experience by successfully defending both misdemeanor and felony cases throughout the state. Over time, he expanded his practice to include family law, handling divorce, child custody, landlord/tenant, and probate matters. In 2024, John decided to establish the Revis Law Group, where he could continue his long career dedicated to serving and supporting Alaskans.
John has a passion for working with domestic violence victims and spends a significant amount of time working via contract with the Alaska Network on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault (ANDVSA). He works hard to cultivate his advocacy, fighting for clients in all hearings from DVPOs to arguments before the state Supreme Court.
Now, John resides in Wasilla, where he is building his off-grid cabin in the woods. In his spare time, he enjoys rock climbing, painting, and woodworking.

PAW-RALEGAL - Kennedy
Kennedy is an avid acapella enthusiast, and his dedication to his craft ensures that rehearsal time is anytime. Our excellent paw-ralegal, part of the Revis Law Group, works hard at his job of snuggling and providing a good laugh to the firm's partners, including criminal defense attorneys and family law attorneys. He investigates every smell thoroughly, ensuring no stone goes unturned. When he isn't working, Kennedy enjoys keeping up with neighborhood activities, napping, and exercising his built-in springs. Whether he is a cat or a dog remains unconfirmed and largely open for debate.
Paw-Office Assistant - Zodiac
Zodiac - affectionately nicknamed Baby Z - is the unofficial supervisor of the firm, which includes our team of criminal defense attorneys and family law attorneys. He insists on being involved in all firm social activities and is an expert at expressing his opinions. After a conversation with him, no one feels unable to advocate for themselves, regardless of their legal challenges. When he isn't working with the talented team at Revis Law Group, Zodiac enjoys playing 'the floor is lava' and 'how many times can I squeak this squeaker?' His status as a dog is firmly established, but given his vocabulary and argumentative nature, he can easily be mistaken for a toddler.

Spirit
Because we receive numerous questions about our fluffy support staff, we felt it was important to keep the section about our beloved girl. On March 2, 2026, after a brave battle with diabetes and kidney failure, our baby girl crossed the rainbow bridge. The entire Revis Law Group felt heartbroken by the loss, and we miss her dearly. She was the best grumplestumps anyone could ask for, and our office is far too quiet without her presence.
Spirit's hobbies included eating everything in sight and moonlighting as the local tsunami alert system. Our enthusiastic paw office assistant worked hard to ensure everyone was on time, whether for important meetings or dinner time, and always promptly informed the firm's partners when guests arrived.
